Remembering Better Days
It turned out that I really hit it off with the home owner, who has cool classic Plymouth’s. His garage is so large that he has a man cave area with a big screen which has an overhead door that opens to the main garage. I told him that it would be a great picture to re-enact a drive in movie scene right there in his garage. He thought it was a great idea.
Oh the memories that I have of going to the drive in when I was a boy. Mom and Dad would dress my brother and I in our pajamas, put us in the car and head to the drive in. Pop corn, Jujube’s, ice cream Bon Bon’s and soda pop… and then falling asleep in the back seat before the movie ended. Waking again when dad started the car and then the line out of the theater and onto the road home.
There were still drive in theaters when I was a teenager and for a while during my 20′s. The movie theater in Hood River provided many good times as a young adult. 
I try to consider all of the parts of our lives that have improved since then, but I’m not sure that anyone that I know is happier today than they were back when times were much simpler.
